Isanuma Bavardage is a bicycle flea market held quarterly at Isanuma Park of Kawagoe-city, Saitama. Compared with the largest Sekido-bashi flea market in Fuchu, Tokyo, Isanuma is a
local and quiet market with limited number of sellers and buyers. As a result, trades in the
market are relatively inactive, but many participants like its friendly and close mood.
This time, I decided to open a booth to sell non-working parts and accessories. I prepared
some “widow” components of which the other one of pair was gone to look for someone who own the other. My attempt to find the partners was failed, but I could sell some goods such
as;
-Suntour Superbe-pro Rear Hub
-Shimano XTR Front Hub
-Detto Pietro Shoes
This was my first time to stay in sell-side at flea markets and it was difficult to fix appropriate price on the goods. But I really enjoyed the selling with a help from Naru-san who was a
temporally co-owner of the booth. I also enjoyed cooking my rice ball lunch with Svea123R
camp stove.
After 1 p.m., the number of new comers was decreasing and I decided to close the shop.
Then, I joined the big lunch party of bicyclists group in which I could find many acquaintances of mine. We talk a lot about bicycles by reviewing the beautiful bikes gathered around. It was a calm and pleasant afternoon party in which we really enjoyed the “Bavardage” over
bicycles.
